One of the best things about summer is that it provides infinite opportunities to play with your personal style. Call it a loosening up of sorts, or simply an excuse to take some risks and embark on a style adventure: as the temperature rises, so does our desire to try something new. From jewelry that’ll take you back to summer camp to pop of color and forever denims, here are the must-try trends of summer‘21.

Trend #1:

There’s more to white clothing than basic tees and crisp white blouses. From denim pieces in cool new cuts to strong shapes softened by breezy eyelet fabrics, this spring/ summer is all about playing up with silhouettes and textures. For maximum impact, mix and match shades of white (anything from translucent to ecru goes) or pair basics pieces with on-trend neon hues. Below, we’ve rounded up cute springtime picks that will let you see white in a whole new light.

Trend #2:

Less fleeting trend, more newfound collective obsession: when the entire fashion community starts swapping diminutive diamonds for pony beads, you know there’s something in the air. The appeal is unquestionably rooted in nostalgia (doesn’t the innocence of friendship bracelets feel particularly welcome in a post-pandemic world?), but there’s another force at play too: plain old happiness. From Double Chain Necklace to Rebekah Price Rivoli Collection and many other designers  precious and semi-precious stone necklaces—these pieces promise a smile (and at every price point, too).

Trend #3:

There’s no denying that the meaning of “getting dressed” took a sharp turn for many over the past year, and you may be feeling eager to freshen up your wardrobe with bright colors, playful textures, and experimental prints that will undoubtedly make you feel something. Color-coordinating with our croissants was fun, but who couldn’t use a touch of maximalism right about now? Synonymous with esteemed designers, fine-spun craftsmanship has long established itself on runways and among elite fashion circles alike. Years (not to mention a pandemic) later, its staying power is undeniable—beloved for its temperate versatility and artful ease—earning gilded summer status. Battling with air conditioning?  knit tops will beat the chill. Hoping to go out for the evening sans jacket? Try our Fushia Knit Tank.

If you don’t yet own a funky printed top, now’s the time to buy one. It’s an easy way to make a statement without really trying. No matter how wild the print, it’ll always go with jeans, so why not make your morning dressing easy?

Feminine florals are updated with soft-focus filters and blurred filters. Vintage florals are refreshed and pretty blooms are given a digital approach for application on Summer weight fabrics.

Tie Dye has been successful and is set to continue with the addition of stripe formations and pinstripes.  New approaches to placement and colour combinations are key.

Trend #5:

LOOK good, feel good… right? The intention of getting dresses up in the mornings as if we were going into the office, but by day two, we all knew that there was absolutely no way this could last. We all gave it a shot, but our heart truly lies in staying comfortable. With that being said, old sweats and baggy tees is just not making anyone feel fashionable, so we did a little research to find comfy clothes that would actually make you look and feel chic while at home. The collection of luxurious and elevated pieces, a curation that you will have to actually restrain yourself from adding everything to your cart. ( Especially the washable silk collection, which would let you ditch the dry cleaner and wash silks yourself- a true miracle!) Satin slip dresses and skirts have made a serious comeback and this is how you can wear them now…

Toronto weather leaves ous with no choice, that our heads are saying reach for the thermals, but our hearts are saying easy breezy cotton dresses and sandals. So, our solution? Invest in pieces that’ll see you through both seasons.

The slips was a Nineties favourite. But it’s one that’s naturally getting welcomed back with open arms. Loved by the likes of Nineties icons Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell and associated with renowned designers such as Calvin Klein, slips have always been a fashion piece to take note of.

Surprise, surprise—sweatpants are selling like crazy right now. I hope you read that with a healthy dose of sarcasm because based on the number of sweatpant products we’ve published and our own personal lounge ‘fits, it’s abundantly clear that the humble sweatpant has achieved worldwide fame. In light of current events, sweatpants and joggers have become our daily staples where jeans once were.

According to a recent Trend report, leggings have seen a small uptick in sales, but sweatpants saw a 12% growth compared to last year, which leads us to believe that it’s not only us—everyone must be living in joggers at the moment. The report also noted that sellouts of sweatpants have officially outpaced both jeans and leggings, with a 115% increase from last year.
