Whether you love timeless pieces or are fearless in experimenting with up-and-coming trends, Freda's, 86 Bathurst St., is sure to please.
The boutique, owned and operated by Freda Iordanous and her daughters, Paulina Georgiou and Elaine Iordanous, carries designer lines such as Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier, Stills, Tracy Reese and Robert Rodriguez.
"We pride ourselves in selecting the best lines from around the world," says Georgiou. Freda's private collection is designed and produced at the downtown location and the boutique dresses on-air TV personalities such as Tracy Moore from Cityline and Citytv, Monica Matys from CTV News, Susan Hay from Global TV, Cheryl Hickey from ET Canada and Erin Davis from CHFI.
Freda's also works with many charities and organizations – including AboutFace, Sheena's Place, Baker Health Centre Health Care and Ovarian Canada – hosting special wine and cheese nights from which they donate 10 per cent of the total sales. "This spring we will be hosting an event in April to raise money for ovarian cancer," says Paulina.
We love the Suzi Roher belts, Cambio pants, Robert Rodriguez jackets and Not Your Daughter's Jeans.

FREDA’S The wares at the venerable Bathurst institution range from the conventionally classic to the uniquely funky. Freda’s private collection specializes in solid, pinstriped and patterned suits ($400-$600), while Sinéquanone pants (from $95) infatuate the young at heart. Fashionistas-about-town such as Jeanne Beker snap up eye-catching Suzi Roher belts ($200-$400), while staff, many trained as image consultants, nods approvingly. In the back, a dramatic gold Tadashi gown ($390) and a sexy silk-and-peekaboo lace number by JS Group ($380) flank more subdued evening gowns ($200-$1000). Freda’s F/W 2008-2009 Private Brand Collection, Tuesday, 29 July 2008 19:04
Freda’s is one of the most successful female business executives in Canada, but first and foremost she creates stunning fashion collections. TorontoLuxury.ca is proud to present the arrival of Freda's Fall/Winter Private collection. This season, Freda’s goes beyond the wall of conservatism and enters a new realm of style and contemporary flair.
For over thirty years, Freda’s Private Brand success has been attributed to its superior quality, attention to detail, and fine craftsmanship. While this mandate continues to hold true today, this season, Freda’s has softened its conservative lines and polished look, for a more relaxed sense of playfulness. The result is a look that is fun, fresh, vibrant, and spirited with contemporary flair, highlighting the brand’s new approach to its design construction.
Freda’s Private Brand collection is designed to address the needs of today’s modern woman’s demanding lifestyle. It is created for the woman who appreciates fashion, but seeks wearable pieces that are timeless and sophisticated. The collection incorporates the hottest trends with practical pieces that work to compliment a client’s existing wardrobe, creating a versatile look that can take a woman from a fast paced day of business, to casual, and into the evening hour.
Whether she is 25 or 55, her style is not driven by her age. She is a knowledgeable consumer with an unerring eye for detail, who appreciates high-fashion within the wearable lines of function and form. She celebrates the new ideals of modern elegance in a look that incorporates beauty, glamour, and femininity. Freda’s understands that a woman’s life has become more mobile, and this demand for a spirited and versatile wardrobe is reflected in every aspect of the design process, from its conception to its completion.
The consumer that once purchased a specific wardrobe for every facet of the day, now seeks one outfit that will have them looking great for any occasion. The result is Freda’s Private Brand… more than just a confluence of fashion and style, Freda’s takes modern aesthetics to a new dimension of design.
Freda’s Exclusive Ready-to-Wear Collection is currently designed, manufactured, and sold in one state-of-the-art facility located in Toronto’s downtown core.
